Tisha B’Av 5775 Schedule and Laws for Shabbos and Tisha B’Av

Erev Tisha B’Av-Saturday, July 25th

* Meat and wine may be eaten this Shabbos even at Shalosh Seudos

* Marital relations are forbidden unless it is immersion night

* There is no Seudas HaMafsekes (final before the fast) this year

Shabbos Mincha 6:00 p.m.

Shalosh Seudas must be finished by 8:31

* There will be no Shalosh Seudas in Shul

Fast Begins 8:31 p.m.

After 9:16 p.m.:

* One should say  Baruch Hamavdil BeinKodesh L’Chol- Regular Havdallah is not recited.

*The Bracha over the candle is recited. The ideal time for this bracha is right before the reading of Megilas Eicha.

*Change into non-leather shoes

*Bring Kinnos and low chair(or pillows) to Shul

Maariv/Eicha 9:30 p.m.

Harkochos are in effect the night of Tisha B’Av.

This year as the fast is a nedcheh (pushed back a day) pregnant women do not need to fast. Anyone with medical condition should speak to Rabbi Zakon about fasting.

Tisha B’Av-Sunday, July 26th

Shachris 9:00 A.M. (Tallis and Tefilin are not worn) After Shacharis, we will be saying Kinnos, with explanations

Mid-Day 1:33 p.m.

Project Witness “In a split second:The destruction of Hungarian Jewry” 4:00 P.M.

Video: Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation B 6:00 P.M.

Mincha (Tallis and Tefilin are worn) 7:45 P.M.

Maariv 8:55 p.m.

Fast Ends/Havdalah is recited 9:14 p.m. Havdalah (beer or wine/no spices/no candles)

Kiddish Levanah should be said after eating and putting on regular shoes.

Prohibitions for Tisha B’Av

* Eating and drinking

* Bathing

* Anointing

* Wearing leather shoes

* Martial relations

* Study of Torah except parts dealing with destruction

* Until mid-day, we do not sit on a regular chair. If one sleeps with two pillows they should try to sleep with only one.

Post-Tisha B’Av

Laundry, bathing, and haircuts are permissible Sunday night.

Meat, wine and listening to music are permissible Monday morning
