Kiddush following services. Kiddush is sponsored by the men who went on the New York trip in gratitude  to Rabbi Zakon and Rabbi Yogi and all the hosts and lecturers who made this trip so special!

Purim Schedule and Laws

Thursday March 13 -The fast of Esther

Fast begins 6:27 A.M.

If you plan on eating in the morning before the fast you should stipulate so before going to bed Wednesday evening. If you are unsure as to whether you should fast please speak to Rabbi Zakon

Mincha 5:45 P.M.

Fast ends 8:18 P.M.

There is a obligation to hear the Torah reading about Amalek.

Special Torah reading  Shabbos March 15 10:45 A.M. and 11:45 A.M.

There are four special Mitzvos for Purim

1. To hear the Megilla reading Purim evening and morning.

2. To give a meal or the monetary value of a meal to two different poor people.(Minimum of $10 per poor person.) The obligation to give to the poor is for each man or women above the age of Bar/Bat mitzva separately. Rabbi Zakon is collecting money that will be distributed to the poor locally and in Israel on Purim. Please give the money to Rabbi Zakon before Purim.

3. To give a gift of two prepared foods to at least one person during the daytime of Purim.

Please do not bring children to the reading if they are too young to sit quietly through the whole reading.

Sunday March 16
