Special Torah reading  Shabbos March 15 10:45 A.M. and 11:45 A.M.

There are four special Mitzvos for Purim

1. To hear the Megilla reading Purim evening and morning.

2. To give a meal or the monetary value of a meal to two different poor people.(Minimum of $10 per poor person.) The obligation to give to the poor is for each man or women above the age of Bar/Bat mitzva separately. Rabbi Zakon is collecting money that will be distributed to the poor locally and in Israel on Purim. Please give the money to Rabbi Zakon before Purim.

3. To give a gift of two prepared foods to at least one person during the daytime of Purim. Maimonides writes that it is more important to give money to the poor than to spend money on anything else on Purim! Please be generous with our brethren in need.  Please be in touch with Rabbi Zakon for him to give money to the needy on your behalf on Purim.

4. To have a festive meal during the day of Purim. Please join us for the DATA of Plano Purim Seuda-celebration. To rsvp email nzakon@dataofplano.org. While we hope to have some wine at the Seuda if you like a particular wine or form of spirit it is best to BYOB. (and maybe enough to share!)
