Sunday, March 28 After nightfall the head of each household should search for chametz. We hide 10 pieces of bread (in plastci or silver foil so no crumbs will fall.) and then search for them using a candle or flashlight. After searching the house for Chometz and finding the 10 pieces of the nullificaton prayer is said in a language you understand.

  • Search for Chametz Begins – 8:21 PM
  • After search Nullification is recited (see ArtScroll page 654)

Monday, March 29 Erev Pesach

  • Fast of First Born Begins – 6:04 AM
  • Last time for eating chametz – 11:03 AM
  • Last time for burning chametz and reciting Nullification (see ArtScroll page 654) – 12:17 AM
  • Candlelighting/Mincha  – 7:30 PM
  • Earliest time to start Seder – 8:22 PM
  • Chatzos (Mid-Night) – 1:31 AM

Yom Tov, Tuesday, March 30 First Day of Pesach

  • Shacharis – 9:00 AM (We continue to say Mashiv Haruach U’Morid HaGeshem through the silent mussaf.)
  • Mincha followed by class – 7:30 PM
  • Candlelighting (From pre-existing flame, Second seder preparations begin – Not before 8:22 PM
  • Chatzos (Mid-Night) – 1:31 AM
