Men’s Beginners Talmud Class To Begin Soon

Jan 26th, 2010 by yrobkin | 1

I want to let everyone know that I will be starting a Talmud class for men in two weeks time. This is a very special opportunity for all of the Jews in the Dallas Area  who are looking to study the depth of Judaism from the source itself! Although there are many classes and courses on Jewish thought and philosophy, classes for the beginning Talmud student are almost non existent. With that said, I hope you take this wonderful opportunity to join with me in the study of Tractate Bava Metzia. We will be studying chapter 6, which deals primarily with business law and ethics. Our goal will be to familiarize you with the structure of the Mishna and Gemara, and to teach you how to analyze any given sugya (portion). Hewbrew reading/translation skills are not required for this class.

The class will meet weekly at DATA of Plano on Wed. nights at 7:45 pm.

First class on Feb. 10

The cost of the course is $118. However, for those who RSVP before Feb.1 with a firm committment to attend and stay committed to the course of study, the class is only $36. RSVP to my email address . I hope you will be part of this special experience. Sincerely, Rabbi Yogi Robkin DATA of Plano

ps- Feel free to forward this invitation to anyone you know whom you feel might be interested.

I would like to RSVP for this class – i.e. “Men’s Beginner Talmud Class” starting in two weeks. I have the following questions:
    1. How long will the class be – i.e. number of weeks?
    2. Is it only for $36 (this is really low) – are there any other costs?
    3. If I miss a class is there some way to catch up?
