Tisha Ba’av (the fast of the ninth of the Hebrew month of Av) Begins Wednesday eve at 8:27 P.M.

Services Wednesday evening 8:45 P.M.

Services Thursday morning 8:00 A.M.

  Afternoon Services 7:30 P.M.

Chatzos (midday) 1:33 P.M.

Fast ends 9:14 P.M.

Laws of The Ninth of Av:

1. No eating or drinking for adult males 13  and older, females 12 and older. If one is concerned with fasting due to health issues a doctor and rabbi should be consulted.

2. No bathing. We only wash our hands until the knuckles.

3. No anointing with oil

4. No wearing leather shoes.

5. No marital relations.

As it is a day of mourning we sit on the floor or a chair that is practically on the floor anytime until mid day which is 1:33 P.M.

In order to feel the sadness of the day we don’t engage in joking and even only study aspects of Torah that remind of the destruction¬† of the temple or of mourning.

Shabbaton this coming Shabbos! Please join us as we welcome the Rebbetzins and women back from their Israel trip as well as welcome the SEED boys.

Thank you to Sidney and Jill Goldin for generously donating crowns for both of our Sifrei Torah. Sidney will present them on Shabbos at services Shabbos morning!

The SEED boys are here through the middle of next week. If you would like to (adult men or boys)study with a SEED rabbi please contact Rabbi Zakon.

SEED girls will be running a funfilled program for girls ages 9 and up from August 10-17th. Contact Rabbi Zakon for details.
